Parent Training in ABA: Why Your Role Matters

Research shows that parent involvement is one of the strongest predictors of success in ABA therapy. When parents learn ABA strategies, they can reinforce skills throughout the day — not just during the one to three hours of formal therapy sessions.

What Parent Training Teaches You

Parent training teaches you how to:

  • Use positive reinforcement effectively throughout the day
  • Manage challenging behaviors with confidence and consistency
  • Create structure and visual supports at home
  • Generalize skills learned in therapy to real-world settings
  • Track your child's progress and celebrate milestones

Built Into Every Treatment Plan

At RealPath ABA, parent training is built into every treatment plan because we believe empowered parents create the best outcomes. You are not a bystander in your child's therapy — you are an essential part of the team.

How It Works

Your BCBA will schedule regular parent training sessions — typically weekly or bi-weekly — to review your child's progress, teach new strategies, and answer your questions. These sessions can happen in person, at home, or via telehealth.
